National Bank of Dubai (NBD) has rolled out mobile banking services to its customer base. NBD Mobile issues SMS updates to service subscribers with useful information ranging from available account balances, credit card limits and deposit maturity dates.

“Customer satisfaction at National Bank of Dubai is our primary concern, so we are constantly working to develop tools and harness technology to serve our clients,” says Douglas Dowie, general manager, NBD.

The SMS messages for savings and current accounts include account number, available balance and date and time of the update. Savings account messages are sent on the last day of the month. Customers can choose how often they want to be updated on their current accounts — weekly, twice monthly or monthly.

Credit card messages provide card type, available limit and date and time of the update. Like current accounts, they can be sent weekly, twice monthly or monthly. Separate messages can advise customers of upcoming due payment dates, amount due for payment and the credit card type.

Customers can also sign up for late card payment alerts that include the card type and the overdue payment amount.
