Iwill has released a new dual processor motherboard for PCs, the DP400.

The motheboard uses Intel’s 860 chipset, which was specifically designed to meet the needs of high performance multi-processor systems. Together with the latest Intel for DP workstations, The DP400 is designed to be used with Intel’s Xeon processors in dual processor workstations.

The motherboard supports both Dual Xeon Foster processor and the next generation of Xeon processor, Prestonia, using a 400MHz system bus. It also supports Dual RDRAM memory channels, which operate in lock-step, and deliver 3.2 GB/s of memory bandwidth to the processor.

The 64-bit PCI slots on DP400 takes advantage of the Intel Hub Architecture, connecting directly to the MCH and providing a dedicated path for high performance I/O. In addition, the AGP Pro port on the DP400 provides up to 1 GB/s of graphics bandwidth.

Iwill claims that the motherboard provides new levels of performance, scalability, and end-user productivity. It claims that the board is ideal for CAD/CAM designers, 3D animation designers, computer animation designers, digital imaging editors, financial analysts, and professional game servers.
