Philips has released two Matchline TVs equipped with its new PixelPlus technology. It claims that the technology delivers the best quality in TVs in its class.

Porus Sheriar, senior product manager for Philips CTV says, “We are trying to create a picture that’s as close to reality as possible. The Pixel Plus technology creates more pixels on the screen, which in turn means more detail and greater clarity and smoothness. The Pixel Plus TVs produce quality which is close to that of HDTV.”

Philip’s overall strategy is to go for more affluent consumers, with added value products. Ranjit Yadav, regional marketing manager for Philips CTV adds, “In the home entertainment domain, we think consumers look for, most importantly, picture performance, then design and thirdly latest technology. We map out according to these needs and try to bring to market the most compelling product bearing in mind these three factors.”

Two Matchline TVs are available with the new Pixel Plus technology, the 29” version costs $1,360 and the 34” model costs $1,770.
