Jordan’s e-minister talks up IT potential

Jordan’s Minister of Information and Communications Technology, Dr. Fawaz H. Zu'bi, dubbed the virtual e-minister in Jordan, inaugurated the Jordanian Pavilion at the first day of GITEX 2002 and is here to show the Ministry’s support for the Kingdom’s leading technology providers.

Jordan’s Minister of Information and Communications Technology, Dr. Fawaz H. Zu'bi, dubbed the virtual e-minister in Jordan, inaugurated the Jordanian Pavilion at the first day of GITEX 2002 and is here to show the Ministry’s support for the Kingdom’s leading technology providers.

Jordanian companies are showcasing their capabilities and expertise to customers from the Gulf region as well as international visitors at this year’s exhibition.

“Jordan’s ICT sector has gone through a dynamic period of growth and reform in the past year, contributing to the Kingdom’s economic and social development,” said Dr. Fawaz H. Zu'bi. “Our support and presence at GITEX with int@j represents our cooperation and enthusiasm to support the local IT industry to reach its potential in the global economy. Jordanian companies have built a pool of expertise and talent that is acquiring an international reputation, meeting the technology requirements of highly sophisticated organizations.”

Jordanian technology organizations are looking beyond the boarders to form strategic alliances with regional IT companies and by participating in the biggest IT exhibition in the Middle East our members will have the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge in sectors, such as; education, government, and telecommunication, says Marwan Juma, chairman of Int@j.

Jordanian companies along side the ministry include: OFFTEC, Eskadenia, Estarta, Integrated Technology Group, Jordan Telecom, TIS Group, and WAMAD IT Services Co.
