Ashley is exhibiting products from Belkin, Toshiba, MSI and Creative at Gitex 2002.

Amongst the new releases, the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 sound card is creating blockages in the aisles. It produces 24-bit/192 kHz DVD-Audio with 106dB signal-to-noise ratio through a 6.1 surround-sound system from Dolby Digital. The Audigy sets a new standard for PC gaming audio.

It is one of the best performing PC cards for playback of Advanced Resolution DVD-Audio, and it is the first and only add-in sound card to be THX-certified, one of the most stringent independent performance tests.

Also on show is Creative’s Nomad Jukebox 3, a portable MP3 ‘walkman’ with a built-in 20 GB hard disk — enough to download anyone’s entire music collection. Also see the Creative Nomad MuVo.

It is a portable device worn around the neck that can be used as an MP3 player and portable storage device and does not require cables or software.

And then there is Prodikeys, a new PC keyboard from creative that, aside the usual QWERTY buttons, combines a music keyboard too. To support the launch for this wacky new gadget, Ashley is laying on a little light-relief for weary feet. Every day a performer will be playing the Prodikeys from morning until closing time.
