Olivetti has three new products on show at Gitex.

Sohail Rana, area manager for Oligulf, says, “The Fax-Lab 260 is Olivetti’s new inkjet, plain-paper fax machine, which is the fastest of its kind with a transmission period of 3 seconds for A4 size.
“We are also launching a heavy duty laser fax machine, the OFX 9100, which is a multifunction machine. It is a laser printer, a scanner and a fax. We used to have fax machines with options, but now these have the options built-in without an increase in price.

“The third product we are launching, for the first time in the Middle East, is a TP label machine. This is a franking machine for use in postal services. It is totally computerised and automatic, so you simply put the envelope on top of the machine, enter the destination and it will do the rest. We also have specialised banking printers and a range of digital copiers on show.”
It’s not all about office products at the Olivetti stand, however, there are also some mobile devices on display. Olivetti is showcasing its prototype PDA, the daVinci DV@ Colour. The handheld features Microsoft’s Windows CE.NET 4.1 operating system, an 106MHz Intel Strongarm processor, 32MB of memory and a colour LCD screen with a resolution of 240 x 320dpi. In terms of data entry the device can use both handwriting recognition, a virtual keyboard on the display or a PC keyboard.
