Via is all set to take the consumer electronics market by storm with its soon-to-be-released Hi-fi PC. It is aimed at consumers who want a single unit home cinema system/computer in their front room — without spoiling the interior décor. As well as looking good, the Hi-fi PC features DDR266SDRAM, six channel surround sound, USB 2.0 connectivity, full remote control and can be viewed through a regular TV set. When using the DVD/stereo options the Hi-fi PC runs on Bios, with the hard disk remaining on standby, and switches on in a matter of seconds. According to Via marketing specialist Tim Handley, the kit should be in the shops around the middle of November and will cost in the region of $500-$600. Visit Hall 4 Stand F4-1.
