Prince Trading is launching a range of motherboards and graphics cards from Chaintech in the Middle East. The company already trades outside the UAE with a range that includes all the major components of a PC, but in the UAE its focus is purely on boards and making the Chaintech name more familiar, as Vikas Bhardwaj, sales manager, explained.
“The latest board from Chaintech is called the Apogee and uses the Intel 845E chipset so it is the latest technology at the moment. But at the moment Chaintech is not the most popualr brand. It offers graphics cards as well and we are confident that we will be able to talk to assemblers and companies that are making PCs in the market and hopefully come to some deal with them. That is what the show is about,” Bhardwaj added.
Prince Computers is not restricted to components though. The company also acts as distributor for notebooks from Toshiba, Dell and Compaq as well as having a solutions division that deals with areas such as network manageability, enterprise storage solutions, computer platform telphony solutions and solution project management as part of its Emerging Technologies Overseas (ETO) division.
Bhardwaj explained that since the establishment of the company in 1997, its mission has been to bring emerging technologies to markets across the Middle East, Africa and the CIS. With representatives in these territories and an office in the USA, ETO feels able to boast of a global presence that extends well beyond the components business in the Arab world. But as Bhardwaj emphasised, the company’s Gitex mission is to see its partnership with Chaintech flourish through the growth of relationships with companies like Leo. He also mentioned seeing DTK as a potential partnerhowever, he admitted that there was a long way to go before finalising any such deal.
