Strong and powerful visual communications are clearly the order of the day in the corporate world — and that is reflected on the Sony stand in Hall 4. Sony has an estimated 14% market share in the MEA projector market, and is looking to build on it; starting with the Gitex launch of the VPL-CX5 and VPL-CS5 models.
Phil Slack, divisional director, Sony Broadcast and Professional Middle East and Africa, said: "Making the right impression with a powerful and attractive presentation is a core part of any business communications strategy. This trend is being very quickly recognised throughout the region's business hubs, and Sony is set to reflect its dominance in the global market in the Middle East too."
Weighing just 2.7kg, both projectors can be shared between office departments or used on the road. Compact enough to be slipped into the supplied travel bag, each delivers pictures to match more expensive rivals. The VPL-CS5 gives out 1800 ANSI lumens at SVGA resolution while the VPL-CX5 packs an even more impressive 2000 ANSI lumens at XGA resolution for respectable picture clarity — even in daylight.
Automatic source selection guarantees near-instant connection with virtually any PC, DVD player or other audio-visual source, and both projectors house smart features which ensure true picture geometry, as soon as the projectors are switched on. Additionally, the VPL-CX5 accepts Memory Stick storage media, allowing Microsoft PowerPoint files, digital still images or MPEG video clips to be displayed without the need for a PC or connecting cables. The integrated amplifier and loudspeaker, four times digital picture zoom and freeze/picture muting functions, further enhance presentations.
Slack added: "Teaming great features, intelligent-set-up and compact packaging, the CS5 and CX5 are head and shoulders above anything else in their class. Furthermore they have been positioned at a price, which will make them an attractive addition to any training facility or boardrooms — and a star performer for business people."
