Etisalat is pulling out all the stops at this year’s Gitex. Not only has the PTT doubled the size of its stand, but it is also demonstrating a mix of next generation networks and 3G mobile technologies.

“Next generation networks and 3G are the most talked about technologies in the world today,” says Mohammed Al Fahim, executive vice president of marketing, Etisalat. “We will be showing some of the more popular applications, which will bring visitors to our stand a taste of the considerable benefits these technologies will bring,” he adds.

Etisalat is illustrating the convergence of future networks, which will enable users to access fixed line telecom services, such as telephone, fax, internet and multimedia capabilities through one line.
Showcasing the potential of 3G is a range of video streaming, video mail, multimedia messaging and gaming applications, which will be demonstrated in conjunction with selected mobile phone vendors and content providers.

“We are very excited about Gitex this year. As well as showcasing future technology, we will be showcasing the full range of telecommunications developments, including the internet and e-commerce. Not only will we have the biggest stand ever seen at the event, but we are partnering with international vendors to showcase some of the most exciting applications ever seen,” adds Al Fahim.

The PTT’s business units are also housed on the stand, including its digital cable TV provider, E-Vision; Emirates Internet & Multimedia; Comtrust, which provides Etisalat’s e-commerce infrastructure services; its Contact Centre and its Data Clearing House.
