Logistics specialist DHL UAE has opened an express centre in Dubai Internet City in a bid to enhance its service aimed at the IT and media sectors.

David Wild, general manager, DHL UAE, said: "The location enables us to better serve two of our most important client sectors – the IT and the media industries. Though the centre is physically in DIC, its proximity to Dubai Media City allows us to fulfil commitments to the many advertising and public relations companies on our client profile which require a time-sensitive service."

The IT industry in particular has been identified by DHL UAE as a high-end logistics user. The company has recently tailor-made logistics packages, including warehousing and inventory, for a number of leading
IT partners, such as Compaq.

"The move to DIC and the allocation of a dedicated Global Customer
Logistics Manager sees us strive to further partner the IT industry in delivering logistics solutions designed to enhance their competitiveness," said Wild.
