IBM and Gulf Business Machines (GBM) have completed a two-day training session for partners in the Middle East. The sales and marketing driven programme was carried out on behalf of Big Blue’s Software group focusing on the Tivoli product range.

Tivoli is designed to help companies manage their IT infrastructures as effectively as possible so it is crucial that channel partners’ sales teams are fully aware of the features and benefits it can deliver to clients. The company said that the event fitted in with its aim to offer a better distribution chain and enhance the level of service it offers customers, which is part of its overall strategy to develop that side of its business.

“We are dedicated to helping our partners present customers with well informed, well trained staff that can advise them on the benefits of the different components of Tivoli systems management and security software, which they can then combine with the benefit of GBM’s expertise,” said Yvon Le Galle, Tivoli regional manager, Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

“Through these training sessions, we can keep in close touch with our channel and ensure that we are able to provide customers with the best possible service,” he added.

The latest additions to the Tivoli software portfolio include cross-platform e-business infrastructure management solutions. These features allow companies to ensure that their IT is in line with their business focus. The IBM and GBM staff also demonstrated features that make up the security aspect of the software. These make certain that infrastructure and data are not lost while also automatically configuring desktops on the system.

“Comprehensive training for our channel partners is at the heart of our strategy in the Middle East. This is vital to us as customer satisfaction is our top priority, and that comes from a committed, informed, professional sales staff that can provide knowledgeable service,” said Le Galle.
