EMEA Holdings, a new company representing the sales and distribution of selected broadcast and post-production products, was launched at this year's IBC show. The company, which has recruited a number of professionals with experience in the Middle East, Africa and Asia markets, has offices in London, Dubai and Qatar.

Prior to launch, EMEA selected a number of industry-leading products to represent a vision to manage, create and deliver broadcast programmes. Partners include Dremedia, 5D, Dayang and On-Air Systems. EMEA will sell and support these products through its worldwide reseller network.

"We have tried to collect a number of products that will cover the four basic steps of workflow," explains Tom Poederbach, technical consultant. "We also tried to put together a product range that can be covered from the high end budget levels to the low end.

"Our idea is that you should make broadcasting as simple as broadcasting radio," adds Poederbach. "Radio is a long way ahead, in terms of getting stories directly to air but video is catching up. Thanks to laptop editing, stories are getting out there faster."

Working alongside Poederbach at EMEA Holdings is: Paul Bennis, senior business development manager; Lee Janjua, financial controller; and Nigel Grant, general manager.

"EMEA has a vast knowledge and experience in dealing in the emerging markets of India, Asia, Africa and the Middle East," says Grant. "We have built a fantastic team of experienced staff that can evangelise products into different markets."
