Jumbo Electronics is streamlining its internal business processes improving customer service with a JD Edwards enterprise resource planning (ERP) project. The ERP deployment will integrate data across Jumbo’s operation creating a transparent business environment.

There are also plans to deploy JD Edwards’ customer relationship management (CRM) module.

“Jumbo Electronics stands committed to transform itself into a world class corporation by adopting best practices that are now found embedded in tier one ERP solutions such as JD Edwards,” says V M Chhabria, chairperson, Jumbo Group.

“We are prepared to make this multimillion dollar investment to achieve this objective. I am proud to be associated with our partners in this project who are global leaders in this business,” she adds.

Jumbo has also contracted KPMG as project consultants. The IBM AS/400 hardware is going to be provided by UCMC. The whole fast track project is due for completion in April 2003.

“The payback from this ERP-induced integrated approach will lead to enhanced productivity that should translate into healthier profits,” predicts Vishesh L Bhatia, COO, Jumbo Electronics Co. Ltd. (LLC).

“It will facilitate company-wide integrated information systems, perform core corporate activities, improve customer service and augment corporate image. Other benefits expected from the ERP system are improved resource management, reduced overhead costs and an increase in strategic focus,” he adds.
