Western Digital is poised to unleash a tidal wave of products on Gitex show visitors.

The vendor is showcasing a range of hard drives spinning at speeds from 200 to 7,200 RPM with capacities ranging from 20 to 200 G/bytes.
The hard drive vendor can be found on its partners’ stands — Al Yousuf and FDC International.

“Western Digital technology continues to revolutionise the way PC users in the Middle East store their data. With the launch of the WD Caviar 200 G/byte model, Western Digital is demonstrating that it is successfully delivering the highest capacity and highest performance EIDE hard drives,” explains Klaas de Vos, Western Digital vice president and general manager, EMEA.

“Gitex 2002 will be a great opportunity for WD to showcase its products with two of [our] channel partners, Al Yousuf Distribution and FDC, and share with our end-users the benefits of high-end electronic storage,” adds De Vos.

The vendor is giving pride of place to its recently launched high capacity desktop hard drive, offering customers up to 200 G/bytes of digital storage.
The WD Caviar hard drive provides users with the capacity and performance needed for storage-rich activities required in the world of digital, audio and internet downloads.

WD Caviar 60 G/byte-per-platter 7,200 RPM hard drives are also on show. The range is available in capacities ranging from 120 to 200 G/bytes. To ensure quiet operation in noise-sensitive desktop/work station environments, WD is offering optional fluid dynamic bearing (FDB) motors.
