FIC introduces wireless range of products to show visitors

Alongside its usual collection of motherboards, FIC is also showcasing some innovative products including its web pad, tablet PC, Bluetooth-enabled PDA devices and small form factor PCs. Visitors in hall three are encouraged to drop by and investigate the vendor’s diverse display.

The vendor’s AquaPAD, is based on the Transmeta Crusoe processor and comes packed with features including support for the MPEG4 standard, 32 M/byte of flash storage, a Microsoft Windows CE .NET operating system and all the software ‘you are ever likely to need,’ claims the company.

The AquaPAD also has two USB ports, one PC MCIA slot and a compact flash slot for expansion. The unit supports wireless LAN 802.11b and 8.4-inch TFT LCD 600x800 touch screen makes the device “a pleasure,” to use, says a press statement.

FIC is also pushing its range of Microsoft Pocket PC-based PDAs. The unit comes with pocket versions of Word, Outlook, MSN Messenger, Excel, Internet Explorer, Media Player and other utilities. A choice of processors is available and expansion is easy using the SD card slot, compact flash slot or USB interface. The FIC Pocket PC also boasts Bluetooth module.

FIC is also debuting its Crystal Table PC at the show. The device is based on Microsoft’s Windows XP Tablet PC Edition and new ink technology enables handwriting to be either converted to text or stored as images.

The vendor is also showcasing its range of small form factor PCs. The small form factor range of machines has been designed to squeeze into the tightest spaces.
