Emirates Internet and Multimedia announced today that customers subscribing to its Internet dial-up service would be offered free registration for one month. The promotion will run from August 10 to September 11, 2002. By waiving the Dhs100 registration charge, EIM hopes to rope in more subscribers to its Internet service.

"We are making huge progress in Internet adoption in the country and we feel that the dial-up offer will help us further our achievements," commented Maroua Naim, general manager, EIM. "This is a great opportunity for those who have been thinking about connecting to the Internet, but have not yet taken that initial step to register."

The move follows EIM's announcement in March 2002 that it had permanently cut the registration charge for dial-up from Dhs200 to Dhs100. With over 263,000 dial-up subscribers and over 920,000 users, dial-up is the most popular of the services offered by EIM.
