Qatar-based Al Jazeera Television is equipping its journalists with Fujitsu Siemens’ C Series Lifebooks. The C Series notebooks boast numerous features including the latest mobile processor and an optional wireless local area network module.

“As a news channel whose prime motto is to provide breaking news stories, we pay great attention to the tools used by our reporters to despatch these stories,” says Salah Al Seddiqi, head of the IT department, Al Jazeera channel.

“It is essential that the laptops and cameras we use offer optimum performance and advanced mobile computing technology as our reporters are often based in remote locations. We chose Fujitsu Siemens laptops for our reporters after we were convinced of their superior quality, dependability and hi-tech features,” he adds.

Fujitsu Siemsns’ local business partner, Business Communications Qatar clinched the deal for the hardware vendor.

“Al Jazeera came to us with specific requirements concerning the laptops they were looking for and we recommend[ed] Fujitsu Siemens Lifebooks C Series notebooks because of their proven superiority over other products in a similar category,” says Yasser Saleh, business development manager, Business Communications Qatar.

The C Series laptops are highly configurable. The buyer can decide between built-in CD, DVD or combo drive. The S-video port offers easy connection to standard TV sets or projectors. Also a firewire port is available to enable rapid connection to digital camcorders, scanners and other external devices.
