Maxtor and TechData step up collaboration in region

The two companies increase collaboration in the region to bring better margins to the channel and value to customers.

Maxtor and Tech Data have agreed to work more closely to step up the former's distribution activities in the Middle East region, as an extension of the two companies’ global agreement. The agreement comes after Tech Data, US and Europe achieved a record sales growth for Maxtor.

“What we need today is a partner that helps us sustain our regional leadership, and Tech Data is in a very good position to help us achieve that, through its extensive channel as well as its knowledge of the market,” said Cagatay Kilic, sales manager, Maxtor, Middle East and Turkey, “The aim behind this partnership is to ensure the supply and delivery of Maxtor products to our resellers in the fastest and most cost effective way, through Tech Data’s leading logistics management capabilities”

Dhruv Srivastava, components business unit manager at Tech Data stated that Maxtor hard drives, which are now on board will give Tech Data more opportunity to help the channel meet its end-user needs. “Having Maxtor on board affirms Tech Data’s unique position in the market in offering the broadest range of brands as well as our capability to offer bundling programs that deliver the best margin for resellers and value proposition for their customers,” said Srivastava. He also confirmed that Tech Data would also the assembly market new value by bundling programmes devised specifically for the high-end server market.
