Setting the standard

Emirates Group has chosen the Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook laptop as the standard machine with which to upgrade its IT operations

The Emirates Group has chosen Fujitsu Siemens’ Lifebook S series of notebooks with which to standardise its laptop stock, as part of an upgrade of the group’s mobile IT operations. Mercator, the Emirates Group’s IT division, took the decision after a review of several leading notebook brands in the market.

Before the end of 2002 the Emirates Group, which includes Emirates Airline and Dnata, is expected to replace all AST laptops and Compaq Armada 1592 models more than three years old. Sales staff will be the first beneficiaries of the upgrade and will get to use the new notebooks at their 2002 Global Sales Conference.

“The Emirates Group has always prided itself on providing the best services to its clients, customers and staff alike. The decision to standardise our laptops with the Lifebook S-Series from Fujitsu Siemens was taken after careful deliberation of the available choices to see which brand would best fit the required demands,” said Keith Gillespie, Customer Service and Support Manager IT, Mercator.
