With greater awareness being created in the region’s corporate sector about the need to secure their IT systems and protect classified information from hackers and other unauthorised forms of network intrusion, Internet security solutions are becoming sought after.
In response to this overwhelming regional demand IT security solutions provider ComGuard has unveiled a comprehensive, diagnostic tool known as ‘network intrusion detection’, which monitors an IT network, analyses the traffic in real-time, and raises alarms when malicious or suspicious activity is detected.

“Everyday, businesses around the region are being invaded by malicious attackers located in cities around the world, and only a comprehensive network intrusion detection test allows an organization to know where its vulnerabilities exist,” said Daniel Nufer, marketing director, ComGuard. “ComGuard first looks at many different variables in a network from how and why programs run, patterns of network traffic, and equipment performance to overall operating system effectiveness; then, based on our findings, an intrusion detection system is installed,” added Nufer.

The system boasts of several features including detecting misuse and anomalies, searching for known attacks, using powerful detection engine and advanced analysis techniques, performing protocol and signature analysis, examining and reassembling packets for examination, raising alerts when suspicious activity is detected and so on.
