LG Electronics’ UAE distributor, Al Sayegh Brothers Trading, has invested Dhs 1.5 million in a service centre for the vendor’s products, which include plasma TVs, mobile phones and DVD home theatre systems.

The centre will be based in Dubai, close to the Al Sayegh Brothers’ show room and will be staffed by eight trained LG Electronics technicians.

“We operate a ‘friendly customer care’ centre policy where customers can attend the service procedure in person and receive detailed explanations of the work being undertaken,” says Abdul Jabar Al Sayegh, chairman, Al Sayegh Brothers Trading.

“The service centre has also been equipped with LG’s customer information centre (CIC) software that logs all customer service details to a central database,” he adds.

The Dubai centre will also share and exchange information with other worldwide LG centres, enabling product malfunctions to be identified more effectively.

“I applaud the Al Sayegh initiative which is completely in line with our regional vision to be the top brand in each market in which we operate and to take the number one slot on customer service indices,” commented S. S. Song, LGE’s vice president, customer service division, at the opening of the centre.

“After-sales service has a crucial role to play in retaining and winning new customers and meeting their increasing expectations. Customers are becoming more sophisticated. They compare the cost versus benefits in each brand offering very carefully. They also compare after-sales service capabilities of each brand before buying,” Song added.

M. B. Shin, president of LG Electronics, Middle East & Africa operations also revealed that the company is on target to reach its sales target for the year of US$1 billion.

“Our half year results will be announced soon but indications show we are well on our way to reach our sales target this year of US$1.1 billion,” said M. B. Shin. “It is our belief that correct, efficient and friendly service is an integral part in enabling LG to achieve that aim.”
