Bucking the recent trend for profit warnings, Dell Computer has said that it will meet its financial targets for the quarter.

In May, Dell forecast revenue of US$8.2 billion and 18 cents earnings per share in its second fiscal quarter, which ends in July.

“We are on course and we have not changed our guidance,” Mike Maher, a company spokesman told Reuters.

Chief executive, Michael Dell was also quoted as saying that the company had not seen the dip in computer demand, which had lead to profit warnings from rivals, such as Apple, and microprocessor makers including Intel.
