Business-to-business (B2B) marketplace Tejari.com is promising member companies a faster return-on-investment (ROI) courtesy of a new e-learning initiative. The online training will provide members with interactive demonstrations enabling them to negotiate and utilise the e-marketplace more effectively.

Demonstrations will show users how to bid for items online, issue tenders, participate in auctions, search for catalogues, and maximise the functionality within the Tejari site. On completion of a training module, users will have to pass an online quiz before moving onto the next section.

“One of the major issues involved in migrating to any new business model is how quickly it will bring tangible benefits to the organisation. With Tejari’s e-learning initiative, our members can begin trading on the marketplace immediately, with the option to refresh their knowledge or update their understanding of how Tejari works by utilising the e-learning service,” said Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, chief executive officer, Tejari.com.

“Tejari’s e-learning component also enables our members to receive training at any time and for the duration they choose, delivering greater flexibility and availability of Tejari’s online resources. This concept is part of a growing e-learning trend, along with projects such as Knowledge Village at Dubai Internet City,” added Sheikha Lubna.

Tejari’s online training works in conjunction with the existing private demonstrations and tutorials members receive when they sign up to the marketplace.

“While all Tejari members receive initial training to familiarise themselves with the marketplace, sometimes they may forget how to perform specific functions, which may prevent them from taking full advantage of many functionalities of the marketplace. Now an online resource is available around the clock to increase member’s comfort levels and encourage greater utilisation of all Tejari’s trading functions. Although the e-learning component is primarily available to members, two of the modules have been included on the Tejari portal, and can be accessed by everyone,” Sheikha Lubna explained.
