LINKdotNET, an Egyptian e-commerce developer, has been awarded Microsoft Gold Partner Certification. The award comes to recognise the company’s work in developing e-commerce sites in Egypt, including Intoegypt.com and Speedsend.com

“This gold standard reflects the work we have done since 1996 and our on-going successful partnership with Microsoft,” said Khaled Bichara, president and CEO of LINKdotNET.

The company has collaborated with Microsoft on a number projects including developing and maintaining its Web site in the Middle East. It also fits the profile of delivering Microsoft-based IT services and products to SMBs, government and enterprise.

“Gold partners have specialised disciplines such as e-commerce. LINKdotNET is united by the common goal of supporting commitment to emerging technology and providing excellence in customer solutions,” said Karim Ramadan, Egypt country manager for Microsoft.

“The goal of this programme is to clearly identify those Microsoft Certified Partners with e-commerce expertise for customers and engage the right opportunities from our referral system,” he added.

The company had to have certain Microsoft qualifications before it could be eligible for the certification including: having staff with advanced Microsoft qualifications and experience on Microsoft Server 2000 and SQL Server 2000, as well as customer references.

Intoegypt.com is a site for hotel, rental car and cruise booking while Speedsend is a B2B site for ordering office supplies that can accept orders from different employees simultaneously and then authorise them while tying in with the accounting and inventory systems.
