arabaia.com has announced the latest partner to join its travel channel, DoMiddleEast.com. The travel agency offers a range of package holidays and tours within the Middle East.

Visitors to arabia.com’s travel corner will be able to book a variety of holidays organised by DoMiddleEast in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Egypt. The company hopes to extend its range to other countries in the region in the future.

“We aim to promote incoming tourism to the Middle East, as well as intra-regional tourism between the countries of the Middle East” explains Reine Abboud, managing director, DoMiddleEast.

Online travel is a growing phenomenon worldwide. The World Tourism Organisation Business Council, for instance, predicts that one in four travel purchases in the most important markets will be made online by 2007.

Ramzi Zeine, chief executive officer of arabia.com, says that the Middle East has seen similar growth.

“The travel channel is a key area in our portal. We have witnessed the huge growth in online travel activity and are responding to this. We have concentrated on upgrading the travel options available to our users to ensure they get the most complete online travel service,” he says.
