Compaq, Intel and Oracle have teamed up together to offer enterprises a combined solution designed to ensure maximum availability of their IT systems.

Compaq, Intel and Oracle have teamed up together to offer enterprises a combined solution designed to reduce their downtime and ensure maximum availability. The solution is devised around Oracle’s 9i real Application Clusters (RAC), Intel’s Xeon processors and Compaq’s clustered systems.

“The threat of system downtime is becoming an increasingly important concern for businesses today,” said Samer Karawi, enterprise solutions manager, Compaq, Gulf & Levant. “This is why we’ve created a straight-forward solution that combines best-of–breed technology from Compaq and its partners.”

The three vendors recently joined together for conference in Dubai, explaining to local IT managers the importance of continuous availability for their IT infrastructures.

“With business customers, maximum computing power is a priority and unscheduled downtime is a phenomenon to be eliminated,” commented Gordon Graylish, director, business & communication solutions, Intel EMEA region. “The complete family of our technology products including the Intel Pentium 4 processor, the Xeon processor for servers, and the Itanium processor for high-end high-power applications, integrated with our partners’ hardware and solutions, enable high-performance computing solutions across all industries with a maximum downtime of 0.001%.”
