Magirus has opened its new regional headquarters in the Middle East. The German value added distributor will run all of its local operations from its new base in Dubai Internet City. The new office is the first base outside of Europe for the company, which works closely providing enterprise solutions for IBM, HP and Compaq across Europe.

“The Dubai office is the first outside Europe, bringing our award-winning value added distribution model to this important growth region and becoming the first to exclusively serve the Middle East’s high-end enterprise solutions market,” said Fabian von Kuenheim, CEO of Magirus AG.

Initially, the VAD will be working with Compaq in Kuwait and the UAE, although it intends to extend its expertise to other territories and vendors in time. It will also be providing financing and leasing options for partners, through its joint venture partner, A’Ayan Leasing & Investment Company of Kuwait.

“Our partners across the region will benefit significantly from this unique in-house finance programme and our market specific know-how and industry perspective,” explained Ali Al-Ghanim, chairman of A’Ayan Magirus.

Dr Omar Bin Sulaiman, chief executive office of DIC welcomed the company: “We welcome Magirus’ decision to choose Dubai Internet City as their hub for further expansion throughout the region. We are not only committed to offer them the best possible infrastructure and support, but also hope that they do benefit from the growing cluster of ICT community in Dubai Internet City,” he said.
