Seven global software vendors have produced the Middle East’s first software licensing guide. Produced in associate with Tech Data, the booklet will be a comprehensive source of information regarding licensing for technology resellers and end users within the region.

The Business Software Alliance (BSA) has welcomed the publication of the guide, as it will make it easier for resellers to tell end users about licensing.

“This is the first time that we have seen this kind of action in the region, and we congratulate Tech Data and the participating vendors for the initiative. We believe that this will assist us tremendously in promoting licensing awareness and creating a call to action for all small to medium businesses throughout the region,” says Jawad Al Redha, regional director of the BSA.

The new guide will be freely distributed to businesses throughout the region as well as through the reseller channels of Tech Data and the participating software vendors. The vendors involved are Computer Associates, Caldera, Microsoft, Novell, Oracle, Symantec and Veritas.
