Prince Alwaleed's George V in Paris ranked No. 1 hotel

The famous Four Seasons George V hotel in Paris owned by Prince Alwaleed bin Talal has been ranked as the number 1 hotel in the world by Forbes Global's annual survey conducted by Andrew Harper’s Hideaway Report.

The famous Four Seasons George V hotel in Paris owned by Prince Alwaleed bin Talal has been ranked as the number 1 hotel in the world.
Forbes Global published in March 4, 2002, its annual survey, conducted by Andrew Harper’s Hideaway Report, a monthly newsletter. The George V took the top spot in the International City Hotel Category, the first time in the survey’s history that the No.1 position has gone to a non-Asian hotel since the report started in 1982.

The Four Seasons George V Ever went under extensive renovation at the end of 1999. Alwaleed wanted George V to go beyond being a hotel that only offers luxury services. “I am confident that George V with its new look will be the crown jewel of hotels in the world. Great efforts have been made for it to provide the best luxury services. I am sure that people experiencing their stay at George V will agree that it is like no other anywhere else,” said Alwaleed on the occasion of the opening of George V after its renovation.

According to Forbes Global, the renovation of George V cost $125 million. Prince Alwaleed had purchased the hotel for $178 million. The Four Seasons George V accommodates 250 rooms and 61 suites.

Alwaleed owns 22 percent of the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.

In the Middle East, 10 Four Season hotels are currently being constructed to extend the chain’s high quality and superb services to tourists and businessmen alike. Two months ago, the Prince placed the foundation stone for the Four Seasons in Damascus.

In Egypt, the Four Seasons at First Residence is already operational while the Four Seasons Nile Plaza is under construction. A third Four Seasons is expected to open soon in Sharm El-Sheikh and a fourth Four Seasons hotel will be opened in Alexandria.

In Lebanon, the year 2004 will mark the opening of Four Seasons in Beirut. This year, 2002, the Four Seasons Amman, Jordan, will open its doors in the summer. And later on this year the Four Seasons Riyadh, located in Kingdom Centre Tower, will start receiving guests.

In Dubai negotiations are underway to close a deal for the development of a Four Seasons hotel. Recently, the first Fairmont hotel was opened in Dubai.

Whereas in Doha, Qatar, an agreement has been reached to manage a hotel by Four Seasons.
