SMB Distribution is expanding its networking division, signing agreements with a number of new vendors. The UAE-based distributor’s networking arm, SMB Networking & Communications, has added Superior Modular Products (SMP), SMC, Siemens and US Robotics to its existing portfolio, which includes 3Com.

“In line with SMB's vision of providing the best products, the Network Division will focus on the strengths of its brands and adding more products to its portfolio,” said Hamid Shaikh, division manager, networking, SMB Distribution. “We are negotiating with more vendors for distribution rights targeting the Middle East, CIS and African countries.”

Seyed Ibrahim Bukhary, director of SMB Distribution, believed that the channel will welcome the expansion. “They will be able to respond to customers in a timely manner and co-ordinate prompt delivery of products,” he continued. “We will be offering our channel partners pre-sales support and help tackle some common post-sales issues.”

According to Shaikh, existing vendors are happy to see the expansion in SMB. “They see a stronger focus for their products with the expanded team of SMB's Network Division.”
