Orad Hi-Tec Systems has signed a US$3.6 million deal with The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), the world's largest racing jurisdiction with annual revenues exceeding US$10 billion.

This is the first sale of Orad's novel automatic HorseTrack system, successfully tested by the HKJC during a live race.

Orad's technology allows HKJC to provide customers with realtime positioning and timing data for all horses during the race and for morning track work, allowing top-down graphical views of lead horses as well as information on speed, acceleration and distance travelled.

Orad provides a platform to develop future products that will help racing preserve its position while providing new channels like race simulation, forecasting and reality-based gaming.

The Jockey Club is also purchasing Orad's broadcast enhancement tools Cybersport and Psy systems, which give 2D and 3D graphics and animation that will be integrated with HorseTrack to show visual effects and live information during the race video broadcasting.

The HorseTrack and integrated graphical enhancement systems will be installed at Shatin and Happy Valley Hong Kong race courses during 2002 and beginning of 2003. Orad has started negotiations with other jockey clubs as well.
