New value-additions on MSN Arabia attract more Arab users

MSN Arabia has got itself a new user interface and invested heavily in acquiring additional content as part of its efforts to expand its services to Arab users.

MSN Arabia has got itself a new user interface and invested heavily in acquiring additional content as part of its efforts to expand its services to Arab users. New content, which went live last week on the bi-lingual Web site include sports news, daily polls, movie theatre listings, restaurant guides and current affairs.

“As part of our drive at MSN Arabia to continuously develop the site, we have added content to cover different interests and increasing demands of Internet Users in the Arab world,” said Khaled Bichara, president and CEO of LINKdotNET. “We have not only enriched the content and increased the channels, but made the site easier to navigate and increased the interactivity of the portal to improve the entire user experience.”

MSN Arabia’s Entertainment Channel now includes an extensive restaurant guide for major Arab cities, where users can search to find a desired cuisine, opening hours, reservation contact information and an MSN rating. A similar channel has been launched to enable people to check what movies are running in cinemas in Egypt, UAE and other Arab cities. Additionally, the Job Channel enables people in the Arab world to post resumes and vacancies. An additional feature that is said to be gaining popularity in the region is the Web site’s interactive poll, which focuses on current affairs, celebrity gossip and topics that will help the site’s management gauge the sentiments of those using its services.
