The Institute for Technology and Innovation (ITI), a joint educational initiative between Zayed University and Dubai Internet City (DIC) that was formed to establish and nurture technological innovation in the UAE, has teamed up with IBM to begin work on a project to plan and evaluate the requirements for an e-Innovation Centre in the UAE.

The two teams will work together to define the centre’s mission and draw out detailed plans on how to address the needs of the business community and the UAE government. “Together with IBM, we are creating a programme that will directly address the ability of people in the UAE to take the lead in creating new types of businesses or technologies. Through this centre, we hope to teach people how to seize the opportunities that lie before them, and to create opportunities themselves,” said Dr Hanif al Qassimi, vice president, Zayed University.
