The second annual Saudi E-Business Awards, which recognise the companies driving the development of the e-economy in Saudi Arabia, are drawing near and the award categories have been finalised.

The awards ceremony will be held at the Intercontinental Hotel, Riyadh, on April 22, right in the middle of Saudi Arabia’s busiest and most intense IT week to date, which includes the inaugural Gitex Saudi Arabia and the 2nd Saudi E-Commerce 2002 conference.

“The awards are always keenly contested and monitored, as they are an excellent barometer of the developments within the Kingdom’s e-marketplace over the last year,” said Walid Akawi, publisher, Arabian Business Magazine. “We have finalised the categories to be contested, and I am pleased to announce that the awards will encompass what we regard as the crucial and central aspects of Saudi’s e-business infrastructure.”

Key government and private sector figures will be in attendance at the awards ceremony. “Because we were invited to host the gala dinner in conjunction with both Gitex and the Saudi E-Commerce 2002 event, the list of delegates will read like a Who’s Who of the E-Industry” continued Akawi.
