3Com builds ‘smart’ office complex

United Realty Company (URC) has deployed an end-to-end 3Com networking solution at its URC City Towers business complex. Gigabit Ethernet switching and networked telephony technologies, together with a wireless LAN solution, provide resident businesses with a ‘technologically advanced’ and ‘modern networking infrastructure.’

The infrastructure features eight 3Com Switch 4007 switches at the core in a complete redundant/resilient configuration together with 60 3Com SuperStack 3 Switch 3300 switches at the edge, A 3Com SuperStack 3 NBX Networked Telephony solution using 600 3Com NBX Business Phones has also been installed to deliver integrated, simultaneous voice and data over the LAN. The addition of 40 3Com AirConnect Access Points, provides tenants with wireless networks beyond the desktop to conference rooms, lobbies and other public spaces.
