First Gulf Bank's branch, in Dubai, was inaugurated by HE Sheikh Fahim Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, UAE Minister of Economy & Commerce, yesterday.

The new branch design is based on an open plan concept, using a contemporary approach to furnishings and accessories. The new branch gives a welcoming, comfortable, and friendly feel to the banking hall, and at the same time ensures privacy for all clients.

High net worth and key corporate customers will have exclusive access to the First Class center located on the 7th floor of Al Yamamah tower. An environment of warmth, privacy, and individual attention has been created in the centre. Personalised service from Relationship Managers will help tailor solutions to meet individual needs.

"First Gulf Bank had a successful year due to a well planned business strategy. We are now focusing on creating value for future growth. Customer research highlights that service is the key differentiator in selecting a financial institution. Therefore, FGB has embraced a service strategy that aims to put 'Hospitality' in Banking, said Abdulhamid Saeed, CEO.

" We have decided to merge the best of the hospitality sector with the finest banking products and skills to establish strong, stable and long lasting business relationships. The elements of the service strategy are reflected in the new branch design and specialised training for all Relationship Managers," added Saeed.

2001 has been a year of achievements for FGB. It successfully launched a new corporate identity, was the First bank in the UAE to be fully ISO 9001: 2000 certified, and improved its credit rating. It has posted a record Net Profit of AED 61.7 million for 2001, 23% higher than 2000.

Saeed said: "We intend to roll out the new identity and service strategy of hospitality across all existing and new branches. This value addition to the customer will strengthen our business relationships and reflect in better financial performance in the future."
