Sakhr Software has unveiled its online media service, Johaina, in Lebanon, just three months after exhibiting beta version at Gitex.

Johaina service enables the monitoring, collecting, categorising and archiving rapidly changing news published on the Internet in Arabic and English. The software enables browsing of 100 journals, magazines, press agency material and satellite channels.

Sakhr’s sister company, Ajeeb.com has been vigorously promoting the online service through a series of workshops and seminars.

“We shall continue informing media and press with this service and follow up with workshops in different Arab countries at great media organisations,” said Fahad Al Sharekh, Ajeeb.com CEO and member of Al Alamiah/Sakhr board of directors.

There are already plans to supplement the existing service with 200 additional sources by March 2002 and 350 by June.

The online service has an annual subscription of a US $1000.

For a further US $1000, subscribers can offer personalised services.
