Storage specialist STME has expanded its presence in Egypt, with the opening of new offices and increased investment in the market. The company has more than doubled sales in Egypt over the past two years, and it aims to continue growing its market with new and existing customers.

“Given its size and the willingness of both private companies and the government to invest in leading-edge technology, Egypt is a pivotal market for STME,” said Andrew Calthorpe, sales director of STME. “Education and on-the-ground support are two of STME’s primary areas of focus for our growth in Egypt. We are continuing to develop the level of awareness in Egypt about the need for enterprise storage, while providing our customer base with hands-on skills transfer and round-the-clock support from within the country.”

STME has only been operating in Egypt since 1998, but expects revenues for 2001 to increase by 50% against the previous year. Customers include Telecom Egypt, Click Vodafone, Mobinil, Commercial International Bank, EgyptAir, Manufacturing Commercial Vehicles, Coca Cola and National Bank of Egypt. The company is predicting at least 20% growth for 2002.
