Sports and lifestyle company, Skechers-HME, has signed up with Vertscape for a fully integrated, web based business-to-business (B2B) solution to receive in order to facilitate its ability to interact, transact and service its partners and customers across multiple channels.

Roy Gomez, director at Skechers-HME, believes that the solution will allow the company to add value to customer relationships, as it will improve service levels.

“As a customer-centric organisation, Skechers-HME has been exploring various technology solutions to provide better services for clients by offering them up-to-date information and automating various aspects of the sales process,” he says.

“We decided to team up with Vertscape, as it was the only company that could provide us with an integrated business-technology solution to reduce our time to market without sacrificing robustness or the complexity required to work with our existing investments in IT technologies, while continuing to handle the large quantity and wide variety of continuously changing sporting products offered by Skechers-HME,” he adds.

The solution will feature Microsoft’s .Net MyServices, which will ensure that relevant data will follow the user across multiple devices, different websites and desktop computers in a secure and reliable manner using the Internet as a medium – something that will ease the company’s adoption of customer relationship management should it chose to follow his route.

The tie-up with Vertscape has also meant that Skechers-HME has not needed to assemble the entire infrastructure - including Internet access, security and web application hosting and maintenance – before developing its e-business applications as, by using Vertscape’s web services technologies, the B2B solution is platform independent. As a result, Skechers-HME should be able to rapidly complete internal back-end systems integration and external supply chain integration with partners to reflect real-time inventory and transaction information on the web.
