Qatar’s Ministry of Education (MoE) is deploying a high-speed data network as it centralises many of its operations in a single location. The data network is part of a broad modernisation policy sweeping through the MoE.

According to Dr. Fayza Ahmed Al Hail, IT manager for the MoE, the project is “in line with the ministry’s objectives, and as part of its modernisation policy, the ministry is gathering most of its departments in the 23-story Al Awqaf Tower Complex.”

To complete the project, the MoE has appointed Al Majaz Information Technology Consultants to design and implement the network solution. The firm has recently completed two similar networking projects for Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA).

Although details on the network solution were not yet available, Mohammed Abdullah Al-Obaidly, president of Al Majaz, pledged that the MoE would receive “a comprehensive network solution.”

Al Obaidly added that Al Majaz would dedicate “a team of technical experts in network infrastructure and project managers, to the project to make sure that the project is a complete success.”
