Compaq Middle East and Pepsi Cola’s Middle East and North African office have agreed to start the implementation of a new Storage Area Network at Pepsi’s regional office in Dubai. Pepsi has also outsourced the IT management of its help desk to Compaq Global Services.

“We have thousands of customers in multiple countries, and we needed an extremely powerful storage solution to meet the needs of our customers and offer them the best service. It is also absolutely necessary for us to work in a non stop environment,” said Ahmed Khalifa, business solutions manager at Pepsi-Cola International LTD, Middle East North Africa. “By deploying the StorageWorks SAN solution from Compaq we are sure to have faster access to information and servers, as well as a state of the art clustering solution that ensures highest level of business continuity.”

“This is a very interesting project for Compaq Global Services,” commented Alaa Alshimy Compaq Global Services manager, Gulf and Levant. “Pepsi’s IT needs evolve very quickly and they are spread across many sectors. Compaq is among the very few companies in the world who have the resources and expertise that are needed to keep up with the changes and face potential challenges. We have studied all aspects of Pepsi Cola’s IT setup to ensure that we give them the best solutions and services for their mission critical tasks, throughout their lifecycles”
