Tech Data has announced a major new benefit for its resellers, with the scrapping of all handling charges. The move will create considerable cost savings to resellers in the region.

Tech Data says the removal of handling charges has been made possible by improvements to its logistics management, including the establishment of a distribution hub in Bahrain last year, which has already enabled cost reductions in shipments to Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

“By building efficiencies into the logistics management process, we have been able to drive this cost saving for resellers,” said Adnan Al-Falah, sales director at Tech Data FZ-LLC. “The move means that we can add to reseller profitability and bring yet more relief to their margins.”

“Through processing orders from Tech Data’s logistic center in Bahrain, IT resellers in the Gulf have in the past been able to save up to and above 50% on their freight costs,” said Al-Falah. “Today we continue bringing cost benefits to the channel however through streamlining our own handling processes and expanding our capacity to absorb more cost previously incurred by our customers,” he commented.

“At Tech Data, we define our success through our ability to continuously eliminate inefficiencies in our value chain and that of the channel to ensure collective success and continuous customer satisfaction. We achieve our goals by bringing best practice to the channel, investing in our IT and hub operations and through training and support of our people,” ended Al-Falah.
