MobileCom has stepped up its roaming services following an agreement with Thuraya, enabling Jordan’s mobile telephone operator to provide services in 119 countries.

The agreement means MobileCom can extend its roaming capabilities and provide coverage in every continent, as well as the US. MobileCom visiting countries without GSM networks are able to stay connected using Thuraya’s network and handsets.

“MobileCom is always looking to improve services to its customers, providing them with convenience and value to ensure that they get the most out of their mobile investment,” said Yanal Mufti, communications manager at MobileCom. “By establishing an agreement Thuraya, our customers are able to roam in more countries while taking advantage of satellite communications capabilities in countries where GSM is not available. Thuraya customers visiting Jordan can also take advantage of MobileCom’s network while in the Kingdom.”
