Aramex has unveiled a new state of the art logistics centre in Amman, Jordan. The 2000 square metre centre, located at the Queen Alia International Airport Free Zone, will provide logistics and fulfillment functions in co-operation with existing Aramex facilities in Jebel Ali, Bahrain, and Aqaba Free Zones.

One million dollars has been invested in the facility, which utilises logistics management technology from EXE to handle operations including execution, warehousing and distribution. The system, which is also in use at Aramex’ Jebel Ali facility, uses a blend of traditional and online communications to streamline management and flow of information throughout the supply chain to customers.

"The future of Aramex lies in our ability to continually expand the capabilities of our operations across the region,” said Fadi Ghandour, president and CEO of Aramex International. “These centres are strategically located and technologically connected, making the synergies between them compelling and the cost effectiveness apparent. All this will translate into obvious and direct benefits to our client."

The Amman centre will offer a wide range of supplementary facilities to customers to handle all parts of their requirements. As well as receiving and putaway, inventory management, order fulfillment, assembly and returns, the centre will also provide labeling, packing, shrink wrapping, quality control, gift wrapping and literatrue fulfillment. Complete land, sea and air transport is available through Aramex, as is all customs and import documentation.
