APC Middle East is hoping to leverage on a deal with Sun Microsystems EMEA for its UPS. Following on from the successful deployment of APC rack-mounted Smart UPS in Sun offices across the region, the company is now looking to forge a sales relationship with Sun Professional Services, the consulting arm of the server vendor.

Phillip Hughes, Middle East manager for APC explained: “Addressing the customer’s high availability needs is particularly important with the high Internet adoption rate, which has increased a corporation’s financial dependence on business continuity. Local users are calling for best-of-breed solutions backed up by strong value-added services.”

The UPS were deployed as part of Sun’s drive to improve the availability of its mission critical servers, with most servers now protected by an APC device. The project followed the installation of APC Symmetra units in Sun’s Dubai and Cairo offices.

“The negotiations in EMEA were successfully completed due to effective and efficient response to our needs from APC ME,” said Denis Heraud, managing director Sun MEA. “They also provide a high quality of product offering, as well as central points of contact for logistics, purchasing, technical support and pricing.”
