Creative has announced it will soon launch an upgraded version of its Jukebox MP3 portable music player, the cornerstone of the company’s range of Personal Digital Entertainment (PDE) devices.

The present model is one of the most advanced on the market. With a six gigabyte hard disk drive, Creative’s Jukebox can hold up to 120 hours of music, the equivalent of 170 album CDs.

The new version will hold three times this amount — a 20 gigabyte hard drive will store up to 500 albums, or approximately 5000 tracks.

Users will still be able to compile and index their music collection by connecting the Jukebox to a PC. It will be on sale from the end of this month, priced at approximately US$500.
