The boundaries between the desktop PC and the notebook will be removed with the introduction of the new Celsius Mobile Series by Fujitsu Siemens Computers. Uniting the best of both worlds to create a real ‘two-in-one’ system, this series of mobile computing devices will offer customers a powerful workstation in the size of a notebook.

The Celsius Mobile is superior to an average PC in terms of graphics, processor power, hard disk space, working memory and communication or multimedia ability, enabling architects, designers and other users of specialised workstation applications to have the power of a desktop with all the benefits of mobility. 3D designs can now be taken to the client; changes on location, significantly improving interaction between the manufacturer and the customer.

The CE Mobile series also sets a new standard of security in mobile devices with all products in the series containing an intelligent security package to keep highly sensitive data protected.

Using the integrated smart-card reader, users can identify themselves with a pin number and then decode their data, with the high-end model containing a highly sophisticated fingerprint sensor for the personal identification of the user.

Fujitsu Siemens has developed two different models in the series to cater for different customer needs. The Celsius Mobile A is aimed at customers in the business environment who demand a high standard working environment both in the office and at home.

The high-end all rounder with 15” SXGA display offers a connection to the fastest Intel Pentium III processors, 32 MB graphic adapter and Dolby Surround Sound making it perfect for multimedia presentations and on-site client presentations.

Back in the office it is easy to transform the 2.6kg notebook into a compact desktop system using the port-replicator for connecting to all needed peripherals.

The Celsius Mobile H marks the standard of Intel-based mobile workstations. It is the first mobile computer powerful enough to be used as a base platform for 3D designers, CAD engineers or other professionals. Celsius Mobile H links the power and graphic ability of a desktop computer in a notebook. The graphic subsystem Quadro2 GO from NVIDIA offers with its 64MB graphic memory the base for complicated real-time 3D applications.

The latest Pentium III processors, 1042 MB RAM, 48 GB hard drive, the CD-RW/DVD drive, the detachable keyboard with bluetooth technology and the certification by leading CAD and DCC software manufacturers, make the Celsius Mobile H into a system equivalent to classic workstations.
