John Spreadborough, general manager of Tally’s international sales department, has said he has been impressed with the turnout at Gitex this year.

“We have probably missed out on casual workers passing through the exhibition, but all of the serious buyers — government ministries, banks and large corporate businesses — have all been here,” he said.

“The show has still been lively but, in terms of customers, I think there has been a concentration of quality this year — I think that is a good way of looking at it.”

The company runs a very successful training scheme where people can go to learn about printer technology. “This has been just as successful this year as it has in previous years,” John said, adding that Tally is enhancing its position in the region in much the same way — by improving the expertise of its staff and distributors.
