Canon has taken its ‘imaging across networks’ strategy a stage further at this year’s Gitex with the unveiling of its Image Runner (iR) networked digital copiers. The family is designed to improve performance speeds and efficiency by bringing together paper, fax and digital storage in one machine.

The multifunctional digital iR8500 copier is being touted as the ‘star of the show’ for Canon and provides a 10 G/byte integrated image server, a remote user interface (RUI) to enable easy job administration and a full system with flexible finishing that facilitates 100-sheet stapling and stacking.

According to Gordon Jones, president of Canon Middle East, the company is steadily building both its profile and marketshare in the region.

“The iR8500 is ready for shipping in our warehouse in Jebel Ali, which has been open since July,” he comments.
